I recently finished reading The Rest is Noise by Alex Ross, music critic for the New Yorker. It is a very lively, interesting and descriptive history of Twentieth Century Classical music. The companion website is great! (www.therestisnoise.com). You listen to examples of the music described in the book online. I am continuing with my addiction to Murakami Haruki books, finishing The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle and looking forward to starting  Dance Dance Dance.

I'm listening to and watching the newly released Led Zepellin DVD. I'm a big fan of the band and Jimmy Page's guitar playing in particular. There is a lot of previously unreleased live footage. I'm also watching Monkey Series 1 on DVD.

Recently I watched Zombieland directed by Ruben Fleischer. It was twistedly funny.

I attended the Japanese Film Festival last November, some inteseting films! I saw:

K-20: Legend of the Mask K20 怪人二十面相・伝

The Kiss 接吻

Pandemic 感染列島

In my spare time I like to cook! I'm definitely not a masterchef, but I find the act of creating a tasty meal relaxing and lets my mind drift away.

I also enjoy running, kickboxing and windsurfing, although I am really not very good at any of these things!

I also have  interests in travel and languages (particularly Turkish and Spanish), perception, astronomy, photography, art, philosophy, news and current affairs. I am learning Japanese at the moment.

One of my goals in life is to tour Asia and the Middle East as a travelling musician.
